It's not supprising when someone say Vietnam is a cheap country to travel to, so is it really cheap? and how cheap is it? so today i'm gonna answer these questions in this blog to give you a picture of your budget which you need to have or prepare if you want to travel to Vietnam someday.

1. Food:

- Vietnamese dishes for lunch or breakfast usualy include meat, vegetable, rice or noodle so you don't have to order more to get different thing except you want to try more stuffs, remember that when you go to a restaurant and orther some percific dishes so it will cost you maybe double or triple more, dinner is the most ''expensive'' in VN because if vietnamese go out for dinner, they usualy choose a place where they can order percific dishes more than a portion. In Hochiminh and Hanoi city, they're always more ''expensive'' than normal but in Hochiminh is cheaper than Hanoi and im not gonna write anything about expensive stuff because it would be exacly the price like in your country so it's nothing interesting:

+ Street food : Normal meal like Pho, lunch or breakfast (good one): 0,8-1,2 euro/person

+ Cheap to adorable restaurant: In centrals breakfast/lunch : 1,2-2 euro/person.

+ Nice restaurant : Usualy they have percific dishes for you to choose so it's depend on what you order, for nice meal and enough for 1 person it would cost 4-6euro.

you can find this meal on some streets or in adorable restaurant- Com Tam : 1,5-2 euro

2. Drinks:

-I would say Starbuck is the most expensive coffeeshop in Vietnam but Starbuck in Vietnam is the cheapest one if we compare with another country, you can find a lot of coffeshops as good as Starbuck but cheaper and have more choices in VN because VN is a tropical country so they have a lot of fruits and stuff like that so they can create more drinks with cheaper price. Milktea is really popular in Vietnam so if you don't try it when you are there that would be a big mistake:

+ Coffee: Local places without airconditioner and not in the centrals: 0,4 euro. Nice coffeeshop :1,1-1,5 euro.

+ Juice or smoothies:

. You shouln'd buy these drinks on some street in VN because they are contain a large of surgar and ice so the price is super cheap : 0,5 euro.

. In a nice coffeeshop: 1,3-2.2euro.

. Milktea: Must not try when they on the street! In milktea shop: 0,6-2,2 euro. 2,2e is the most expensive but they are not much different from another one. My favorite brand is Bobabop because the shop look cute, the drink is nice, the price is super cheap and really easy to find their shop because they have a lot of branches, i have tried many times to find another brand more expensive and better than Bobabop but i couldn't, of course i also have a friend who are not really love Bobabop but you can try if you search in google and way too much choices come up and that makes you don't know what to choose.

Guys, this is amazing!

. Water: 1,5l -0,6 euro. Please notice that you can't drink water everywhere in Vietnam because water there is not that clean.

. Beers: Vietnam aslo have their own beer which is Saigon beer so you can also try: 0,5 euro for 330ml in supermarket, the price would be douple or triple when you buy in a restaurant which is normal in the world.

3. Transportation:

- The cheapest one is bus, in VN they don't sell ticket for a whole day, they sell ticket like normal one which mean you need to pay for every time you jum in a bus, so you don't have to find a place where they sell the ticket beforehand, just find a bus station and wait for it, they have one person sell it in a bus and don't worry about cheating because they have the price in the ticket and they are the same price for all people in a bus ( except student and old people) but you have to check where is your destination because they have a lot of buses in the cities.

+ Public bus: 0,22cent for a ticket, really cheap but if you don't have much time, you shouldn't take this option because the traffic in Vietnam is not ''nice'' with bus so it's just stucked in rush hour and they not go straight to the place you want go to, don't get me wrong, every bus has their own route but its route is alsways longer than normal- becareful of pilfering in bus when the bus has too many peole.

+ Coach: The best one in VN is Futa bus( phuong trang bus) because it's punctual, has really much destinations and no cheating for foreigner. The price depend on where you want to go but it around 3,3 -11 euro ( 90km- 400km).

+ Taxi: Must choose Grab or Uber that what i can say when you want to go by taxi in VN. Price: 0,33 euro/km in Hochiminh city- the price changes when you are in different city.

4. Hotel:

- This point i did mention in'' https://exploringvietnam96.wixsite.com/website'' so i just say about the price here: Nice hostel 9,4 euro. You can also find one cost 4 euro but i just want to show you the price which make you can enjoy your trip.

5. Flight ticket:

Unfortunately flight ticket is not cheap when you travel to Vietnam but this maybe help for avoiding buy an expensive ticket, you shouldn't travel to VN on X-mas or Tet holiday, X-mas is easy to understand but Tet holiday is even much more expensive because it is the time when vietnamese from outside go back VN for visiting their family, almost all of restaurants, shops, streetfoods are close on that day but if they open, they will cost you double or triple price because they have to pay for their staffs like that also ( the same with hotel too). Tet holiday is not celebrate on the same time, somehow it's change every year but around january-march every year ( best period time to travel in VN also but don't worry, they just last longest 1 month so you still have 2 months for enjoying) and remember that almost all of asia areas celebrate lunar new year also so you need to check if that country also stop the services on that day or not before you book a flight.

I hope this still interesting until last and this post can help you some how, we will come up with new topic every week so follow us in Instagram : joy.lucia_ to know when will we have new blog, hope you have a nice trip, bye!
